Although I was at the communications booth very briefly, it was a real success from the way things looked. Congratulations Sandra for mobilizing the classes and including the Philippines as the recipient of such a good cause. I liked the Earth Day concepts from Luciano and Gabe - yes, I must admit I was surprised at the booths and the celebration itself at Cosumnes. It was fun! Because there is only one Earth and if we don't take care of it now, we might not have any in the future, yes the day should be celebrated and its significance highlighted as a holiday. Let for one day, just one day, let Earth breathe from the smell of exhaust from cars. Let the working sector stay at home and allow the Earth to breathe cleaner air. What happened in the Leyte, Philippines mudslide was there was continuous rains for two weeks that made the earth so soft. The continuous rains with a 2.6 earthquake, even that "light" a tremor is enough to wipe out the community because the earth was rain-soaked and could easily move. There were no more trees "holding" the land as no reforestation was done. If only the Earth could complain...

COMM 301!
I love Earth-day and I know that we all must do our part knowmatter how small to pretact our envierment. The fact that we have a day set out to inform others about the planet, shows how important earth-day is. People think that they wont live to see the effects of GBW but if only they can look out side and really see the earth, then will the shocking awerness take affect. I know that I make a diffrence every time I tell to do something that shows how important our planet is; and it's good to know that an event like earth-day can be viwed as being a "fun loveing day to chil-out!"
