I am commenting here on Brittney since I did not see a comment spot under Brittney's name. Brittney is working very hard at non-verbal communication. The problem with communication, is that, unless we are very clear on what we want to communicate, and how our audience is going to receive it. Brittney seems to want to communicate "I am not this paper doll child star teenage stereotypical sex object." "I can defy your image of image of me (which is the source of my money, power, and fame) and get away with it." "A pox on all your perceptions!" "Yes, I bestow the curse of bad fashion upon you in the form of my visage!." And yet, still, Brittney does not escape the news of making news. Even her attempts to show that she is/is not craving attention, get her more attention. However, now, her credibility as a sweet and sexy pleasantry is teetering. The black pall of losing star power from random acts of kookiness looms on the horizon... and it will be time to do some very exotic shopping very soon once more... or trim the sails and make even more news by "recovery" into her former imag(e)s that we all know so well, and that, apparently, many take comfort in. All this by a change of wardrobe and an implied defiant jut of the chin... yes non-verbal communicaton is powerful.

Opps, sentence # 3 above should have read: "The problem with communication, is that, unless we are very clear on what we want to communicate, and how our audience is going to receive it, we risk mis-communicating. In these instances we can produce and provoke perceptions and reactions very different from what we want. In these instances, it can be very difficult, even impossible to retract the communication we have created. Thus, our communication work is doubled, trebled or more, and we have to examine how we have sabotauged the message--and perhaps ourselves--to straighten it out... which can be energetically, and time-wise, very expensive....Brittney seems to want..." --- Paul DeLong
