I turn to the news and the internet for the most of my information. The news because thats how you hear about things to start with and the internet to learn more about it and look deeper into the story. I think it is very important that we talk about real serious issues right now to educate people. Like right now what Im very intrested in is and the whole country is Jena 6. I would actually like to have a discusion about that in class.

WOW this blog was random... Okay first: When I open up my internet browser, yahoo.com pops up and it always has tons of news articles and interesting things to look at so I read that, but I don't always trust the things it says. I believe the media tells it like they want us to see it and if I had witnessed the event, I could have seen it differently. Actually I tend to believe only things that can be proven, and everything else I believe has other sides. I don't care much if the classroom is current or not; our past is just as important as our present. Oh, and I think the meaning of life is to live (and enjoy living), to put it simply. Since I have a medical condition, giving birth is not an option for me. If I could have a child and have no repercussions, then I would. That was a lot of questions...

I choose to go to bet.com because they provide alot of information about current events especially that have happened to African American people. I'm not saying that I'm not interested in what happens to other races it's just this one has longer time spent on real stories that channel 10 or 40 rather spend talking about Brittany Spears. And if had one thing to try and not fail I would run for president. The meaning to life to me is to serve a purpose helping others getting recognized for your achievemants and contributions to the world. Not waisting your time or anyone elses mean something to the world.

I always keep up on info from the internet. But the one I depend on is the schools(scc) data base. Not only does it give you current events, sites, history etc... It even helps you cite your source. We’ve come a long way from the good old encyclopedia haven’t we?

The meaning of life!
It scares me sometimes to wonder if I will forget everyone I love. So the meaning to my life is to live, love and accomplish great things. But mostly to make sure the people around me know I love them with every piece of my heart.

I tend to use google as my first search and usually check out a few of the sources, but I'd say wikipedia comes up most often and I check it usually if not first, and I don't know that I actually trust it, because the information can be put up there by anyone, but I figure if there are 7 billion people on this planet a few thousand critics will correct it. And the meaning of life? um... to understand?

For information I often turn to Headline News or sacbee.com. I don't always trust them because most news sources only tell one side of a story. It's not really that important to me that a classroom or teacher reflects currents issues or events, unless of course it happens to be a very extreme event that could jeopardize our safety.
The meaning of life is to enjoy the people you are around, to set positive examples, and to keep moving forward.

With work and school I find it difficult to stay current on news and world events. I have Yahoo set as my homepage and I always look through the articles and try to stay as up-to-date as I can. I like watching the news on television; most people I know say it's depressing but I like knowing what's going on, especially in my local area. My boyfriend is also a great source of news and information, he always seems to know what's going on.

As for the meaning of life I'm probably the wrong person to ask! I have a huge fear of death and I also wonder why I am here and what is going to happen to me in the future and when I pass on. I think each day of a person's life doesn't need to be spent living like it's the last (otherwise I'd be crying like a scared little girl!) but we need to live like it's the first day of our life, and we are experiencing everything with an open mind and open heart. Live to love, love to live, and live each day like it's the first day of the rest of your life.

Usually I get information from NPR, online, or from people. I don't trust them often. I tend to trust Wikipedia because there are thousands of editors who really want the facts straight and to share with the world. As for the importance of a teacher or class being "current", it depends on the class/subject. I love to talk current issues, but not if I'm in chem to learn how to balance a molecular equation. If I knew I wouldn't fail, I would try to send holiday/birthday cards at least once a year to everyone I think of as a friend, and make world harmony. I feel that the more I can give/help others, the more meaningful my life is.

I like to gather information from many sources. I watch the morning and evening news mostly everyday, and I have MSN.com as my home page. Those are for keeping up on current events. I also try to read as much as I can: books, magazines, newspaper. The Wall Street Journal and Fortune Magazine are extremely well written publications.
I have to say, I don't really trust any sort of media completely. I have a lot of conspiracy theories about how "they" actually only let us know what they want us to. That is why you have to get your information from as many sources as possible. If you find the same information in a multitude of sources either "they" have already gotten to them all, or it actually may be true!
The meaning of life, oh that's easy! The human race is a psychological experiment put on by aliens. I thought everyone knew that. Not really... I think the beauty of life is, no one really knows what the meaning is, and no one ever will. So we all get to have our own meaning. There is no set way we have to be, no perfect person to model after... I don't want to be something great, I just want to be me. The best me I can be.

I get my news from The Onion. I find the stories to be very informative and believable. I also like Bill O' Riley and Rush Limbaugh. Their views on life are always so filled with compassion.I still can not figure out why the New York times has not hired Bill O' Riley to head up the news department. I would like the class to discus current events, I would love to see everyone do a speech about their views on Iraq because, I am curious as to how it would lay out statistically.
The meaning of life is a question I have never pondered. No one has any control over their being brought in to the world, so what a daunting task to try to put a meaning, or mission statement to that happenstance. I guess for me life is about trying to get through one day and making it to the next until eventually I die.
If I could do anything without falling, I would take over for Jay Leno ....he is a hack and I wish he would stop trying to get through the day and pass away.

I am so sorry about my hateful blog. I am in a horrible mood, my husband refuses to do the dishes, and I wish I had a maid.

My priamry source is either sacbee.com, local news, or CNN. When I am on the internet--all the time...I may use various search engines Yahoo and google. Although the news often try to get the story out fast...and may at times report some inaccurate information I still rely on it. I know what may sound true or not. In the event that the news or The Bee report wrong information it is often corrected.

If a student feel strongly about a current event especially in a Communications class...I don't find it to be a problem to talk about it. But the class doesn't have to focus on current events...it should be an individual choice.

The meaning of life is to love, laugh, teach and learn...top it off with a little bit of struggles and sacrifices.

I find out most of my information from two sources. Yahoo news, and the Rob Arnie and Dawn show. I've found yahoo news puts out the most interesting stories that I'm actually intent on reading. I trust this source because for the most part it is facts and not a whole lot of writter commentary. I get more than enough writter commentary from my second source, the Rob Arnie and Dawn show. It's a radio talk show that offers coherent oppinions(for the most part) and often puts an interesting and humorous spin on the stories presented.

I guess I get most of my news from newspapers/internet news sites. However at times I feel as if I learn more from watching The Daily Show and The Colbert Report. I don't really trust the news I guess. So I try to dig deep to find my news.

I think we should all know about current issues. We should all be informed about what's happening in the world or at least in your own city. I think theres a time and place to talk about these things in school. Like in a speech class for example. A math class would probably not be such an ideal place.

If I could try anything I wanted without failing I would master the sitar. Cuz they're badass.

I guess I think the meaning of life is to EXPERIENCE and SEE life. For the ugliness and beauty. To soak it all in and then at the end say "Ah, that's the stuff." Perhaps while drinking a can of ice cold pepsi on your deathbed.

I use different medias for different functions. For world news, I like to visit Yahoo.com CNN.com and watch TV to get the latest information; I also like to visit Sina.com to get latest news in China, both political and financial news since I am working with an international business company, the Chinese economical policies have very big influence on us; It does have some influence on my personal finance as well. For evidence information, I’d like to do some further research at Google.com to analyze the credibility of the information I get. If for entertainment, I like to read magazines, it is my last work before I go to sleep every day. To talk with friends is definitely another good way to get some gossips.

To me, the meaning of life is to be happy and to make those we love happy. Happiness may not be how much money I earn and how many expensive stuff I possess. Happiness is the feeling I have after I complete a tough job which bothers me a long time; Happiness is when I run into the person I am missing so much unexpectedly; Happiness is the pressure moment I spend together with my family and my friends after experiencing long wait; Happiness is to help those who need my help……Wow, happiness is not hard to find, it is through out our lives.

I rely on news sources like CNN and the local news. I feel that it has to be pretty darn accurate to withstand the scrutiny of the general public. It is important for a teacher and classroom climate to reflect current issues and events, as interaction can influence not only the way we think, but the way we act.

And the meaning of life: learn, grow, forgive, love.

I like to use Wikipedia.org. One of my favorite things to do is watch TV and bug out on wikipedia.org. If something on TV pops up that I don't know about (example: right now I am watching X-men the movie) I'll search for it on Wikipedia. I look up just about everything, from plate-techonics to single malt scotches.
I think that the meaning of life is different for everyone. We find meanings everyday, and each is as unique as we are.

Information? When I was a kid, I thought reading newspaper and watching news are bored. However, I find we cannot live in a society without information. If I am looking for specific infor. I would browse on the internet. There are a lot of good tool such as yahoo, google, also, scc's liberary website. Also, i would go to some discussion blogger such as hkdiscossion.com, people post question, and a lot of people post their oppinion and experence on that web.
For issue we discuss during class with teacher and classmates, I would listen and select the right information from them. Getting different fats or oppinion from differ people would open our mind.
The meaning of Live? I think is to enjoy the every moment I have. I remember steave Job (CEO of Apple) have said "when you think today is the last day of my life, I would enjoy it more" Sometimes live give us hard time, but sometimes we have a lot of fun. All experence are our life, our memery. Life is one time, you don't have a second choice, so I would rather spend it with value, with fun~ I have you would enjoy you life too! good luck all of you ~

Were I turn to for information depends on what it is I want to know. If it something I am simply interested in I turn to books or the internet to find information related to the topic I am researching. If it is something that is going on in the world I do my best to gather the most reliable information possible. One cant always trust the news media to give the most accurate information, so I try to find the original stories from a variety of sources such as the internet and so on. I think that when your not sure of a stories accuracy it is good to read articles of conflicting opinions to get a better view of what happened.

When someone asks me what the meaning of life is, I can only say, that to know the meaning of life, would be to know the size of the universe. One must do the best they can to be the best person they can be as we travel through this crazy journey we call life.

for history projects and stuff i like to get most of my information from wikkipeida.com. I heard its a bias, self put in articles site, but i havent seen any evidence of that so far, so i really dont mind taking it for what it is.

For news in general, i really dont care to know anything. I can listen to cnn for fox news, and its the same stuff war, death, murder. Nothing about some one saving some one, or teen pop idols. My self arguing, or telling another person my views wont change the out come of iraq, unless if i pick up a gun and go to war, which i prefer not to because i dont find the reason just at this point.

The meaning of life? I can break that down in many different ways

Religion: is to help keep your morals in line and serve your god.

Sports/Martial arts: You alot of time into it, and train to learn self discipline. To achieve your goals in life, and not to have any arguments or problems along the way.

IN the end its all comes down to you, and your self growth, and your personal beliefs(religion)

Wow--you all have shared interesting and diverse views, I really enjoy getting your takes on life and tips for getting through it--This seems appropriate, from Pearl S. Buck:
"The young do not know enough to be prudent, and therefore they attempt the impossible, and achieve it, generation after generation"

i usually turn to the news, or books, you know go to the library find a book on the topic and if that doesnt work i will turn to the good old internet...
life, life is something that is so beautiful, somthing to apreciate, a gift that we are given, a gift from god to live, with the gift of life we go through so much, love, smiles, people that come in and out, lessons, and other things.

I rely on internet and news either on tv or the newspaper. They keep me updated to understand what is going to our world. To me the word life mean to enjoy life and live to the fullest. The day that we are born we have to make our life fun because no one know what going to happen the next day so make each day worth living for.

I ussually go to wikipedia for my information. Even thought I know people have criticized it, I have found it to pretty accurate and it is easy to wade out the BS on some articles. Of course because it is never good to only have one source I like to use the databases provided by the school like info trac. I find that they can be more reliable than simply putting in what you are looking for into a yahoo search engine. When ever I want some random tidbit of information I like to go to fark. com because they always seem to have interesting articles

I ususally turn to different sources depending on what info it is that I am looking for. If I'm looking for information related to school it' s usually books and internet.Books are pretty precise and have details and the internet can have more info than needed. It is important to reflect on current issues and events because there can be certain situations that can affect our lives.

I choose to get my new from various different sources. I'm very selective of the information I choose to believe and accept, because for the most part the news is whatever makes the stations or websites money.
As for what I think the meaning of life is. I think it's waking up everyday making choices and decisions that effect our future. I feel the true meaning of life is just to live it. Which is a struggle in it's self.

I learn most of my every day news from yahoo.com, the news, and family/friends. I dont fully trust these sources for the full story. I think it is important for a teacher and classroom climate dicuss current events because they are important parts of our world and our society. the meaning of life is what you make of it. To me the meaning of life is be happy and full fill everything you have wanted, while being there for those you are close to and those who you are not. If I could not fail, I would go back to West Point and become an officer.

Where do I turn most often for information? Well that would depend on what kind. As far as current events in society I receive majority of my information from the news.I can not say that the information portrayed on the news is 100% concrete, but I do believe that it is the most convenient and closest to the truth for someone like me who doesn't typically go searching for information not directly related to my family or I.Now information that I get on a personal level such as finances and parenting, I get my information from personal experiences and then I look online (Yahoo) to see if there is any information out there to back up what I may already feel I know. Information that comes directly from me,or that I myself have researched online, or from loved ones is what I trust the most because then I don't have to worry about a stranger and their hidden intentions. It is extremely important to me that a teacher and classroom climate reflect current issues and events to keep students informed of what is going on today and by giving the opportunity for questions or feelings to be discussed from a variety of different views. The meaning of life I'm sure varies from person to person, but for me it means to overcome, adapt, and succeed. hey its Colleen. i get most of my information from other people, and sometimes the news (if i'm home early enough) and the newspaper (when i'm done with the comics!) its very important to know what's going on in the world and even your own neighborhood and not be ignorant. its the first step in helping other people. the meaning of life is to laugh, love, and live. help others and live life the way you truly want to. if i could do something knowing that i wouldn't fail at all, there are so many things i would do for my own future and to help others. i am most proud of convinicing my best friend NOT to commit suicide.

I turn to friends and family first for information, and this info is semi-reliable. This information is limited however so eventually I turn to the internet, mainly wikipedia. It knows everything man.

In a public speaking class, it is important for the class to reflect current events because these are issues that many of the classmembers have strong opinions about.

Random is the meaning of life.

I basically get all my information through the internet just browsing different sites. If I hear that something is going on around the world I go to google and research on it to see more info on it. And then TV is my other resource I am the type of person that I have to see to believe.

I find that there is few places that I can turn to for real information that is not tempered with the opinion of the one who is sharing that information. We all think that we know everything, and unfortunately we pay some people big money for them to think that way, and then let us know what to think. But for my solid information (HAHAHA) I turn to The Daily Show and the Colbert Report. Maybe they are making fun of the news, in a way, but they also provide you with a look at the news that is refreshingly funny.

And the meaning of life is that I am here to figure out how to not come back and have to do it all over again.
