FINAL BLOG SPRING 2008: WOO-HOO!!!!!
I loved having all the great students this semester--Have a fantastic summer and keep in touch! For this final blog of the class, please share one resource with the rest of us that might be helpful--like suggesting a fun place to eat, cool vaca spot, great shopping venue, fabulous hairstylist--whatever, share a refferal of someone or something you like and tell us how that person or place supports you or makes you happy/relaxed/weatlthy --whatever. How does communication play a role in this relationship? I want to reccomend a Thrift Store called the Moth Hole in Fair Oaks on Madison and Fair Oaks (corner) Though a bit of a drive, I found Rock and Republic jeans for 12.00!!!!!! They rely on word of mouth for communication to keep costs down, but people talk about good deals, so it is like free advertising! Shop thrift--it saves money and sometimes the store even benefits a good cause, like WEAVE on Arden! Peace--S

I WOULD RECOMMEND PEOPLE TO GO TO LAS VAGAS FOR A GREAT VACATION. THE FIRST TIME MY HUSBAND AND I WENT WE HAD SO MUCH FUN. ON OUR FIRST DAY THERE WE WERE APROACHED BY PEOPLE WHO STATED IF WE WERE INTERESTED IN SEEING A NEW HOTEL THAT WAS BEING BUILT IN LAS VEGAS, WE ONLY HAD TO PAY $40.00 UP FRONT TO GO. THE PERKS WERE THAT A SHUTTLE PICKED YOU UP IN THE MORNING FROM YOUR HOTELAND TOOK YOU TO SEE THE NEW HOTEL. WHEN WE GOT THERE WE REALIZED THAT THEY WERE TRYING TO MAKE US BY A TIME SHARE. THEY DID A GOOD JOB AT CONVINCING BUT WE THOUGHT THAT $17,000 WAS JUST TOO MUCH. SO WE HAD TO STAY THERE AND TRIED TO BE CONVINCED FOR ONLY 2 HOURS, BUT HE WERE THE ONE'S WHO FINALY CONVINCED THEM THAT "NO" WAS OUR ANSWER. SO WHEN WE LEFT WE DID GET OUT PROMISED GIFTS FOR FREE. THE GIFTS INCLUDED A FREE GONDOLA RIDE AT THE VENITIAN, FREE DINNER AT THE VENITIAN AT A REALLY NICE RESTAURANT. FREE TICKETS TO THE WAS MUSEUM AT CEASERS PALACE. AND A FREE CRYSTAL BLOCK WITH OUR PICTURES INSIDE OF IT. THAT CRYSTAL BLOCK ACTUALLT RETAILS AT $140.00 AND WE GOT IT FOR FRE. WE WERE ABLE TO GET SO MANY NICE THINGS AND ONLY HAD TO SPEND TWO HOURS SAYING NO TO THE TIME SHARE AND PAYING $40.00. SO I THINK THAT IF ANY ONE GOES TO VAGAS AND HAS TWO FREE HOURS TO SPARE AND $40.00 IT IS SO WORTH IT BECAUSE YOU GET SO MANY NICE THINGS FOR FREE!!

I would recommend all of my fellow students to go to a Sacramento Monarchs basketball game-it is a great outing. Also recommend a great restaurant in Sacramento called Tres Hermanas. It is located at 2416 "K" st. They have the best authenic mexican food. They are opened for breakfast on the weekend. Very Yummy!!!

Hey class I just want to tell everyone to have a great summer!!! This has got to have been one of the most fun classes I have been in in a long time. Thank You Sandi!! I really enjoyed getting to know some of you, I wish I had gotten to know some of you better and really enjoyed listening to the very interesting speeches of the rest of you.
My summer recomndation is a great way for those of you 21 and over to get away for the weekend and have some fun. I want to recommend that you check out your local Hertz Local Edition Office. The reason for my recommendation is that Hertz will he having a 50% off weekend rates promotion ALL summer long with unlimited mileage!!! This makes those weekend get-a-ways a lot more fun and affordable. They will come and get you from your home or office and will give you a ride back when your rental is complete.
For as large a company as they are they rely extensively on word of mouth recomendations as most people dont realize their rates are as affordable as they are and that they will pick you up from home.So word of mouth communication is vital, so more peeople can experience their great service!!
Well class have a GREAT summer and for those that wish to keep in touch or if you have questions about renting cars feel free to email me at

One of the greatest resource's that I would like to share is the free library resource their is so much that you can do. If you are looking for something to do go check your nearest local library. There is free internet if you do not own a computer, events, magazines or newpapers filled with events that you can take advantage of if you are looking for things to do this summer. Some are free! Some of you may already have a heads up if you present at my speech. In addition as you all know if you are just looking for a book to relax or share with your children this is the number one spot to go if its not there request it for free. Their is nothing that makes me happier than making more memories with my family through quality time of pure fun, relaxation, and interaction without communication none of this exist. I hope all you have a great summer it was truly a pleasure to hear everyone interesting and humorous speeches.

Colin McAteer--I would like to recommend a great spot to see San Francisco without all of the touristy traffic. The place is called Mount Davidson in San Francisco. It is close to Twin Peaks, but a little more secretive. You can see all the way to the bay from this spot. There is a bit of a hike, but it is worth it. There are some dogs walkers, but that is usually about it. There is a big cross at the top that is pretty amazing for its size. Looking at the city gives me a relaxing feeling, as I take it in. Communication plays a role in this place because without the word of mouth I may have never found this place. Best of luck to everyone this summer.
For all you fruit and vegetable lovers! If your looking for the safest, freshest, most tastiest fruits and vegetables, support our local farmers by purchasing your fruits and vegetables at the Certified Farmers' Markets of Sacramento. For more information on times & locations, go to www.california-grown.com. Sandra - thanks again for making Coms 361 such a pleasureable experience, and as for the rest of you...have a wonderful summer, and I hope to see some of you next semester!

Wow! The semester is over and summer is here..Cant wait to enjoy some time out and about having fun in the sun!! I'd like to share with everyone another great way to dress fashionable with out breaking your budget as Sandi also shared with us..I always try to shop at Ross Dress for less for my cute fashinalbe items! Its hit and miss, but when you find something great and get it for a great price, there's no better feeling!!
Take care everyone and enjoy your summer!!!

I know many of us still have to work and the summer may be a break from school but not a break from the eight hours we spend on the job. I would like to recommend taking some time to catch a good movie, spending a some time with your love ones, and just relaxing.
If you do get the opportunity to do some traveling go the southern part of the United States. You will be greeted and welcomed with great food and friendly people. Sandra, thank you for making this class one in a million.
I wish everyone a great, blessed, safe and exciting summer break SEE YOU ALL IN THE FALL.

Although I havn't gone in a few years, Cancun is a great place to visit. There is of course a lot of clubs and places to party, but a lot more than that. You can see pyramids and a lot of beautiful natural wonders to see. A great way to save money in Cancun, or other places like this, is to get away from the main hotel area. Learn the bus and train systems, they will save you money versus the taxi cabs. The local town area has better deals on everything from souveniers to food. I also wanted to say that the main reason it was so easy to get up in front of the class and do a speach is because of the class itself. Everyone made the class fun and comfortable. I want to say thank you to everyone, and I hope to see you around campus sometime. Thank you Sandra

A great resource that might be helpful is the Elk Grove Barbara Morse Wackford Community Center & Aquactic Complex. It has so much to offer the community! There's a variety of classes from dancing, cooking, sports, etc. You name it, they probably have it all! And it's for people of all ages. It is located on the corner of Big Horn and Bruceville. Also, you can rent the facility for private parties, meetings, and even weddings. This place makes me wealty by being able to watch my daughter use that facility to grow her imagination, exercise her brain and body, and just have a plain good time there. This place is a well know community center. Through communication, they have brochures that you can either pick up or are in the elk grove papers. Otherwise, it is also spread by the word of the mouth. I hope you all will go check out this place to occupy your free time or your kid's free time because the many activities it have awaits you.

O gosh so many things I would reccomend...but there is only one thing I enjoy doing so much in the summer and that is taking road trips! Ya gas is expensive and all but if you get a group of friends willing to all pitch in its worth it. California has to be the best state to take road trips because there is just so much to see! National parks, San Francisco, Santa Cruz, San Diego, i could go on and on. There is website for the state of California and they post a bunch of things you can see here like beaches and such. Its www.visitcalifornia.com Well hope everyone has a great summer

I would recommend going to the gym. I know we all know that exercise is important for our bodies but I find it is even more important for my mental and emotional health. The stress relief and time alone to just zone out is invaluable and keeps me balanced. (well, as balanced as I can be)I don't communicate with others when I am there. The gym is my time to work the kinks out. I just put in my ipod and stop thinking. With so much stress in our lives and the crazy schedules we all keep it is even more important to take the time to stop and do something good for me. . body mind and soul. BEsides that. . it's almost bikini season! : )
Have a great summer.

Hmm, I remember making a post on here, but can't seem to find it. So I'll just do it over. The place I recommended was Crazy Sushi. It's located on Laguna and Bruceville Blvd next to Borders. All the sushi rolls there are 50% off and they have a bunch of different types of rolls to choose from. This restaurant use to be Aloha sushi and it wasn't until November of last year when they reduced their sushi prices. Communications is required because they require people to use word of mouth to tell other people about their deals and also they have big banners and poster put up to attract customers.

I am going to shamelessly plug my husbands business. He owns an electrical contracting business, Charles Young Electric, cyelectric@frontiernet.net. He has over 10 years experience and relies on referrals for business. Communication is extremely important because of referrals and he is extremely maticulous and wants to make sure his jobs satisfies his customers needs.

Yay, we made to the very end!! Now everyone should go to the beaches of San Deigo and let loose this 4th of July. Leave your worries at home and enjoy life with thousands of people from all over the world!! Communication is vital though, the presence of alcohol tends to lead to misunderstandings.
Thank you for this fun semester Sandi

WOW!!! what a fun and exciting semester! It just went by so fast... and it's already over???? If only it can last longer. hehehe...well, a place that I would recommend people to go is Yosemite Park It's so beautiful and a great place to relaxed your brain. Communication doesn't really play a role in this relationship, if you are just going on this trip alone; however, if you are looking forward to commute, then it's not a bad idea to bring along family, friends, and love ones with you. (a very great place to enjoy yourself)

I would recommend a night at Raley field. The River Cat are fun to watch! If you sit on the 3rd base side the sun doesn't get in your eyes. Also, I think it's on Fridays this year but one night a week hot dogs and ice cream are a dollar each.
Have a great summer!

For this summer, I say it doesn't matter where you go, but who you go with. As long as your with anyone you hold close to your heart, or even just generally have a kick ass time with no matter what the circumstances are. You could be at the beach in Hawaii, or just the local lake. Although I will say that Hawaii is the best, most beautiful place anyone can go to. Great scenery, food, shopping, and a laid back atmosphere.
i also want to add that as far as hairstyles go, short is in right now. Many girls are rocking mohawks and the A-line haircut. Its definitely something cute, fun, edgey and the perfect hairstyle for summer. Just make sure you have the right facial efatures because not everyone can pull it off.
Have a great summer everyone! Be safe and don't drink and drive.

The place I want to recommend is FUJIS. It's located in Downtown Davis and it's an all you can eat sushi buffet for only 12 bucks a person. (It's cheaper for children under 12.) Communication plays a key in this because the restaurant opens at 11 AM, but people are already lining up at 9 or 10 because the place is packed. If you get there after 11, the wait time is from 45 mins to an hour and a half. So if you have friends in Davis who likes sushi, you could call them up and have them line up for you while you're driving there from Elk Grove or Sacramento.

I recommend all you guys to get out and play! It's SUMMERTIME! But don't leave your house without proper balance nutrition. Check out www.Sglobalfit.com; your 'One-stop' source for all your nutritional supplements! I get all of my vitamins & workout supplements such as protein bars & powders, energy bars & drinks, etc.) from them. Communication is very important because Sglobalfit relies on word of mouth to reduce costs, so they can continue to stay in business. So tell your friends all about Sglobalfit!
Have a humble Summer,

I want everyone who hasn't already to experience Yog-Yog Frozen Yogurt. It's located at 8251 Bruceville Rd in the same complex as Target. What makes it so great is the fact that the customer gets to fix his own yogurt complete with a collection of over twenty toppings including real fruit. You can have as much or as little of any and everything you want and be charged by the ounce instead of being charged for random sizes chosen by someone who really doesn't know what or how much you want. Charging by the ounce allows the customer to spend as much or as little as she wants. Who can ask for better than that in a yogurt joint? My favorite is the NY Cheesecake. I like the put crushed graham crackers and strawberries in it. It's delicious! The place is small and quaint, there's a small outdoor seating area, and the cashier is always friendly. I can't say there is a lot of communication because the customer does most of the work but frankly, that's part of Yog-Yog's charm. The customer doesn't have to tell someone else what she wants while hoping he/she gets it right. She gets to make it herself with no drama! Yog-Yog is so soothing on the tongue and makes my stomach happy.

I want to recommend "Polished" a nail shop on Laguna Blvd. They are still pretty new and I really enjoyed the experience!!! i think their name is catchy, which helps communicate to the genereal public that they are a unique nail salon. did I mention they give complimentary mimosas while you are pampered???.... yeah. go.
Have a great summer!!

One place I would have to recommend going to this summer is a club downtown called Faces. If anyone has ever heard about it they probably know that it is a predominatly homosexual club but all preferences are welcome. The club is two stories and is huge with several different rooms with different music. It is great for my friends and I because we like to just dance with one another without being bothered by many different males. I think the communication at this particular club is great because everyone is there to just have a good time and everyone can be themselves, it's just a great environment and it's so much FUN!

I would recomment people to go to Honolulu,Hawaii for a great vacation. I went there last January. I went there with my friends and we had a ball. There are lots of things to do there. We went para-sailing, magic show, snorkling, and ocean walking. Especially, the beach was the best part. It was nice and relaxing.

Hey everyone it was great spending this semester with you all. I would recomend going to MOnster MIni golf. It is a great glow in the dark put put golf course. It is in the nimbus winery off of hazel by thte old spaghetti factory. It is pretty cheap and alot of fun, it is not two scary for children. They have to rely on the internet for advertising. I also saw good morning sacramento do a special on the place, so they have to focus on free advertisement, it is situated right next to a place that alot of people go to, i think they do this so they dont have to rely on anything other than things like what i am doing now. My girlfriend and i went there yesterday we had a great time. It is also a great way to get out of the heat and i would recomend it to everyone. O yea and i totally won :-)

i would like to recommend this sushi resturant Taros by mikuni. you can go to mikunis as well. its the same thing... its just that their son owns taros since its a family business. BUT.... taros is a nice sit down sushi and lounge place. the food is GREAT and the servers are nice and some are pretty cute. and if youre over 21 and you drink enough, im pretty sure youll start hitting on the guys or girls... as well :]

Cherry picking in Stockton city because i am going this Saturday morning. Cherry is expensive and the average price is 2.99 to 3.99 per a pound. Cherry picking is a place for you to pick your own cherry and it cost 14 dollars for 25-50lb bucket. If you love to eat cherry, you should go pick your own cherry in Stockton city. It will have sign everywhere to let you know where you can pick cherry.

It was great having class with everyone. I learned quite a lot from each of you and appreciated everyone's honesty and great humor. Thanks, of course, to Sandi, for setting a fun and productive tone to the class.
I recommend that everyone check out the Summer Olympics. While I agree that China does not DESERVE to host the Olympics, it is what it is and I intend to enjoy what the Games have to offer. You will see heartbreak, triumph, strength, drama, poor sportsmanship (from the American sprinters), great sportsmanship, and pretty much every emotion a human can experience. I have many fond memories of watching the Olympics with my family as I was growing up. Watching most parts is also a lesson in multiculturalism.
I hope anyone who is interested gets a chance to check at least some of the Games out. Thanks!

Hmm a great vacation spot for summer I would have to say cancun where else can you lay out on soft white sand beaches, get some amazing retail therapy in and dance on a bar till 5 in the morning. Its totally like the best summer destination ever, I would have to say if you do go to cancun you should definitly go shopping because they have amazing shopping the nightlife is insane my favorite club was coco bongo its a steep cover price but its worth it and you have to check out the beaches they are white sand beaches and have crystal clear blue water.
Hey! I am on your blog but I am not sure what to do now.
