Street Creds and Squirrels
Hey gang--Don't forget, next week we make the group speeches--bring popcorn and snacks! Excellent meeting Thursday! --You all worked really hard with your groups, stick to that outline--it is like a map to a place you haven't been to before: DON'T GO OFF-ROAD!
Be sure and type your name along with comments for this week's response...So, credibility is important for a successful speech. Visit my You Tube masterpiece "The Making of Sandrah's Thesis" at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F16X_AoVd9I (haha) I made this short film with a crew at Sac State as part of my thesis. According ANY detail in this silly "Making of..." mockumentary, what might I be credible to speak to you about? In 5 or 6 sentences, identify a line or scene and connect it to my credibility:
Here's an example: Don't steal it! ...in one scene you didn't have any cash and couldn't buy parking, so you would be credible to speak about student parking issues here in Sacramento.
Read all previous posts and don't repeat what someone else has said or it won't count, and you may be playful and light-hearted in your examples, as long as you make a connection between what you see and the idea of speaker credibility, or "ethos." See you next Tuesday for the quiz!

Smoking kills, apparently. I like to think that Frenchie had it comin' to him x3
Based on this, I may say that, you may perhaps be credible regarding postmodernism.
or, perhaps, Miramax. (How else would you have known that the squirrel was a spy?!)
This is Kayla Cole. For some reason I can't seem to remember my password for my account. Lol.
Well....That was interesting....Lol j/k.
Personally, I was seriously confused but I'll try to give this a shot.
Based off of this skit, I would have to say that you could be credible for Feminism (?). In the scene of making the movie with Arnold, you mention feminism and talking about his p.o.v in the movie-making.
I don't know if that's what you are expecting, so I'll ask you in class on Tuesday. Hopefully it works. C:
I do have to say that the little girl (You're daughter?) reminded me of "the landlord lady" featering Will Farrel, which I thought was funny.
You guys are all hella funny. I would say that you are credible for having attention getters in your speeches. I can't just pick one scene the entire skit to me was hilarious. The various methods used to convey what seem to be multiple messages was interesting. I really did like the Smoking message and it wasn't overkill no pun intended. LOL You are a lively professor and highly creative.
I am also assuming that you do not smoke or hate it when people smoke around you. LOL
I don't get it. I thought some points were funny, but I wasn't really following along with the skit.
I'm confused.
Whitney Nguyen
That was defiantly different.. but in a good way of course :)
The scene where one of the animals was talking about you would always offer to buy them lunch, but you would always forget to bring your wallet! So you could be credible for talking about breaking promises or breaking deals?
-Natasha Sharma
I don't know if I get this right, but at the beginning of the video, you said something about the Blare Witch Project and the children getting lost. Then, you said you was lost once, so I think you are credible to talk about how one would feel about getting lost.
Hoa Nguyen
This skit was comical. I recall the characters saying repeatedly about how Sandra was always late, so maybe you're credible about talking about punctuality..? And how it may be of importance when going places or meeting people. Not quite sure if I answered the questions right. LOL. But I tried! =D
LOL this was funny and interesting!
I would say the scene about the atm machine, you would be credible for the credit card issues we all have?
-Zainab Torani
This was a really interesting little skit. :) I didn't really understand all of it though.
It seems like you could be credible about being unreliable, confusing, difficult, and just a mess of a person in general.
Sarah Bronson
Well Sandra, now I see why are you're so dramatic. It's one of your hidden talents that you use to support your teaching.
First of all it was a laugh. It was hilarious. Oh, yes you definitely would also make it as a Director, Producer, and of course a Drama Teacher. No, no wait I got it. You would also be credible as a puppet maker. How about a voice over artist or is there such a thing...maybe a ventriloquist? You could also be credible as a talent scout? - Lilia

I can give two adjectives for this skit, hilarious and confusig. Hilarious because of all the funny scenes you put into this skit. Confuesing because of all the different scenes going on. Perhaps you could be credible as a 21st century woman.
To me, the beginning of the skit is quite confusing to me. The first thought that came to me was what the squirrels are doing in this video, LOL. However, i started to follow your skit better. I think you are credible with the scene of dinosaur and the sign of no smoking. Smoking has been a very controversial issue for the Americans. And by the way, does that dinosaur smoke? LOl
----->> Trang Duong
I definitely enjoyed the wonderful cinematography haha. This looked like a big bowl of fun to make, I wonder how long it took to put it together?
I do have to admit that i was unfortunately unable to follow all of it. I'd have to say with the scenes where you were dropping your papers, going through them, or looking for money, you seem like you'd be credible to talk about being unorganized. It was a chuckle to watch though.
Rachel Smith
Well i have to say it was confusing but very entertaining. Its hard not to repeat anything with so many comments before me. But ill give it a whirl. I noticed the dino character was on the phone frequently. You might say you are credible at giving a speech on the reliability of cell phones or technology itself?
I really had a hard time understanding the skit, maybe in your next blog you could go over it a little better or clarify the main points of it? thank you.

Hello this is Antonio Rangel
The whole skit was funny and good especially the grand finaly with the smoking scene (hilarious). Although it's hard to pick one single scene I think that your credible for creativity beggining with the squirrels.
Eric here I thought it was a little out there and really didn't see the connection between squirels and puppets, but I think your point was to explain feminism?, but like i said i don't really know I was confused while watching.
This is Kayla again.
So...I made a comment, but I don't think I did it right, so I'll give it another shot based on the same idea (feminism).
You are credible to talk about feminism becuase you are a female and most of the characters you had in your skit were women-showing that you are a feminist.
((Lol. Thats funny))
This is Tiffani Scott.
Well I am going to have to say that Sandrah is credible to speak about writing a thesis! Considering that is what the film is about, writing her thesis. The thesis itself seems to be about post-modernism, post-structuralism, feminism, pragmatism, being funky and stylish! The squirrels were my favorite part of the skit though, they made it funnier and added a twist on the whole puppet thing. Sandrah is credible to speak about being funny and creative. I have never seen a skit before with a little girl acting important! It was hilarious.
I was pretty confused while watching the video but i did find many of the parts funny. I believe that Sandrah is credible to talk about being short handed on cash because she never seems to have money and is always using someone elses. Maybe she could talk about how hard this economy has hit everyone. and that is why she is so scatter-minded. In the video she seems to be the person noone wants to be around. She is also credible to talk about being bossy and the one noone likes..(obviously not in real life of course!)--Camille Scott
This is Tara Scalese.....Id have to agree with Kayla, I was a little confused with the whole thing. The part when the puppet was on the phone talking about how Sandra always wants people to go eat pizza with her but never has her wallet. The puppet then makes a reference to Scorcezzi (Im guessing on the spelling...haha.
So because i was a little confused, im going to take a guess and say you're credible in regards to film history, or film directing. As far as i know Martin Scorcezzi is a film director.....not 100% on that though.
That skit was really good but I was confused. Btw this is CJ Domondon. Can n e one enlighten me of understanding it. Thanx
