Tasha, Fermina, Odessa and Tony: Donations Committee

Did I leave anyone out? Hi gang--Please review the previous blog (the one marked: Earthday due 3/30) to get a list going of names and items people have volunteered to donate so you can let the class know on Monday what we have (thanks for the leis!) Many have already offerred donations, so mainly, just get a list of names and items, and coordinate how we can get the stuff here to campus for Thursday--work with logistics on that...And we need to come up with some way to collect donations in a sealed container (per CRC) that no onecould "dip into easily...any ideas? Also please help me to collect any change donations people have in class when we meet on the Monday's leading up to the event (I will collect from my other two classes for a combined effort). Determine a minimum donation amount (under a dollar) we will accept for a "gift" of cookies, leis, etc on 4/20. Pleae visit the Red Cross Website for information on what they do with small amounts of donation see www://redcross.org/ --Collect tearsheets on photos that might go well on your collaborative posterboard. Any questions? Smiles--Sandra

Please don't feel the need to spend $$ team, making a donation box sealed with tape I can cut later is just fine, clearly marking it for Red Cross Donations. Also, I am instructing students to post directly to this blog strand if they can donate, in order to get all the info together, I hope this will help, I asked them to list their names, emails and what they will provide to you guys. Great work so far!--S

Hi again--Sharlene (above) donated a good sized stack, about 25 coupons to Marine World (I will give them to you on Monday) and she will be there from 1-2 or so on 4/20. Also, Rhiann Cole works for a cafe/bakery and they are donating aproximately 20 pastries. Both of these students are from coms 301. Also, you can put your posterboard together in class on Monday if it won't take too long...due Mon day is just a report on your progress, preview of the poster and update on the list of donations and list of needs you guys want to encourage the class to fill. I already have about 10.00 in change to start the Kitty off!--S

Wow--You have all worked so hard and I appreciate it, what a great affort for an important cause--I want to stress: Don't get frustrated, you guys have the most detail oriented committee, so Monday night in class was a great chance for input and you were really receptive, I appreciate that! Sorry I didn't clarify ahead of time that the gifts with donation could not be streamlined, I just had not read anything on the blog about it prior to class in order to interveve before class--Remember: The Theme for our entry is Students Making Change with Change...I knda like the idea of seeing what you can get first and then settling for at least a quarter, that sounds clever and open to multiple financial situations! Also, Fermina--If you want to get fancy with the little individual boxes for people like Kicki that will take them to work, etc. please feel free--I hope I didn't take the wind out of your sails by saying "don't put too much time into those" -- I just didn't want you to feel that it was neccessary since I know you are so busy! But whatever works best for you in fantastic--Keep up the terrific work!--Sandra

Oops--Affort should be "effort" and Kicki should be "Vicki" on that last post--I can't edit it from here, nice spelling by a college teacher huh?--Sandrah (!)
